Our family purchased this little gem of a vineyard in 2013. It is nestled into the base of Diamond Mountain so the long arm of the sun doesn’t beat down on the vines during the heat of the day. This allows for a more balanced fruit profile with a lower pH than many other vineyards from this extremely warm growing region. We have three distinct vineyard blocks which each produce a variation of flavors and acid profiles. I love working with the fruit from this region because the balance between the fruit tannin and the oak tannin is challenging! It would be easy to put a lot of heavy toast oak into the mix but I prefer to coax the skin tannins out gently and slowly to help give the wine a big fruity entry with a significant mid-palate punch. I enjoy this wine with high butter fat cheeses or a long, slowly cooked roast that melts in your mouth! ~ Michael Baldacci
From our warmest growing region, the rich plum, dark chocolate and blackberry aromas beckon.
