2012 Sorelle Chardonnay
If you have not yet tried our Sorelle Chardonnay from the Estate vineyards in Carneros then you are in for a treat! The 2012 vintage was awarded the Sweepstake Winner from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for Best Overall White Wine! With aromas of vanilla, toasty French oak, butterscotch and freshly baked shortbread cookies, this wine is delicious. If it is chilled, the flavors of crisp lemon/lime and slight mineral notes linger on the palate; however, if it warms just a bit there are deeper nuances of caramelized apples, and layers of honeysuckle, apricot, white nectarines and agave. Our Sorelle Chardonnay is perfect to pair with lighter meals but it is equally excellent by the glass on a warm afternoon. This wine as barrel fermented in French Oak barrels, about 40% new, and aged sur lie for 10 months prior to bottling. It will be hard not to drink every bottle of the 2012 Chardonnay but if you can hide one for a bit, you will be surprised how well this California white wine can age!
