This is the second release of our Fraternity blend – four varietals from our Estate vineyards in both Stags Leap District and Carneros. Rolando has taken our Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah and has created a blend that over-delivers. The 2009 IV Sons Fraternity is a big wine that tastes delicious in its youth but will only get better as it ages! The color is dark, dense garnet which is exactly what you expect from a Baldacci Family Vineyards’ wine. Aromas of plum, hazelnut, black fruits, figs and cassis balance with flavors of plum, sweet almonds, hints of earth, and dark chocolate all wrapped in a coating of delicious oak. The blending of each varietal brings out the best from each to produce a balanced wine that will age well for 5-7 years and pairs with many of your favorite dishes from pizza and grilled steak to salmon and hearty salads.

Fresh cut flowers, red berries and mint all come together in this medium-bodied, nicely delineated wine. The 2009 impresses for its juiciness and fabulous overall balance. A hint of sweet spice lingers on the long, enveloping finish..."
