Rolando Herrera, Winemaker
Rolando Herrera has been the winemaker at Baldacci Family Vineyards since 2003. He has an intimate knowledge of Stags Leap wines and vineyards, having been involved with winemaking in this region for almost 20 years. He began his winery career next door to Baldacci at Stags Leap Wine Cellars where he spent 10 years, the last seven of them as cellar master. He acquired additional experience in Napa Valley at Chateau Potelle and Vine Cliffe Winery, and with his own winemaking consultation firm before joining Paul Hobbs Wines in 2001. He also produces wines for his personal label, Mi Sueño.
“When I started talking to Baldacci about coming to work for them, I was very excited because I wanted to get back to the vineyards of Stags Leap District,” says Rolando. “These are the wines I know and love the best—they have a unique texture and style recognized everywhere as making the very finest Cabernet Sauvignon. In a way, I feel as if I’ve come full circle, because I started my career here. Now I return with a wealth of knowledge and experience that I can put to good use for the Baldacci family.”
Debi Cali, General Manager
A part of the Napa Valley wine industry since 1992, Debi Cali joined Baldacci Family Vineyards in 2006. She spent many years gaining experience as the General Manager and one of the winemakers at Vincent Arroyo Winery in Calistoga. Working at a small, family-owned winery suits Debi’s style perfectly. She believes that there is nothing more important than developing the relationship between customers, wine and the winery, and knows that can only be accomplished when the winery operates on a personal level.
Mike Knox, Hospitality Manager
Having spent years enjoying the customer side of the tasting bar, Mike parlayed his experiences as an avid consumer into the role he was born for: the perfect host for Baldacci’s Tasting Room. To Mike, the time spent conversing with customers is a win-win situation—for him since he loves to talk, and for them since they leave with a new friend!
Fran Leach, Direct Sales Manager
Fran’s roots in sales and customer service are as deep as the vines in the vineyard. She is a relative newcomer to the wine industry, but has done her homework enjoying as much great Napa Valley wine as possible! Fran works with Mike in the Tasting Room to share her experiences and wine knowledge with the customers that come into the room. She also oversees our REUNION club and direct sales programs.
Jessica Pfeufer, Hospitality
Jessica began her experience with Baldacci Family Vineyard in the summer of 2007 after deciding to take a break from her work as a firefighter and EMT. Many of you know Jessica’s smiling face in the Tasting Room, but she is now only here part-time as she has started her own destination travel business to give visitors to the Napa Valley VIP treatment. She has a discerning palate, is usually the first to know what’s new to taste in the neighborhood and always has her own fun stories to add to the conversation.
Aaron Eisberg, Hospitality
Aaron Eisberg brings a scholarly dimension to the weekend Tasting Room. His day job keeps him busy as a teacher, but he loves hanging out at the winery. Baldacci Family Vineyards put him to work pouring wine and telling stories a few days each month. Aaron holds the winery record for longest cave tour—just what was he talking about in there anyway?
